FAQ

Will my insurance rates go up if I file a roofing claim?

No, insurance companies can't legally raise your rates just because you filed a roofing claim. Storm damage falls under what's called an "Act of God" — meaning it's out of your control. You can't stop a hailstorm or climb on your roof in the middle of one to protect it. That's very different from something like a car accident, where human error can play a role. If you notice your homeowner’s premium going up, it's likely because many homes in your area were impacted. Insurance companies are allowed to adjust rates by region, but they can’t single you out for making a legitimate claim.

How do I know if my roof needs repairs or replacement?

Look out for signs like leaks, missing shingles, or visible damage. If you see any of those it is time to at least have it inspected.

How often should I have my roof inspected?

We recommend an annual roof inspection to catch issues early. After severe weather, it’s wise to get a checkup too.
